5 anledningar för att varulvar är hetare än vampyrer
Stephen Moyer says True Blood cast and crew is a “family”
“I really do think that it’s a golden age for American TV and we’re right at the heart of it, thanks to Alan and the incredible writers we have,” says Moyer. “And what’s fascinating is that Vince Gilligan, who created Breaking Bad, Matt Weiner (Mad Men) and Alan all watch each other’s show because they respect each other.”
“What I think is incredible about our show is that it tries to do so much. It’s not just appeasing some kind of genre specific audience or an Alan Ball-loving audience or an HBO audience, per se, for that matter.”
“We know that from overseas sales. It’s a straight up drama and it just happens to have vampires in it. It’s not a vampire show any more than Star Trek was a show about space travel.
“It’s a show about human relationships and interaction. We never see anybody happy because there will always be obstacles in the way (laughs). Alan does that. He creates a world in which we see people react to extraordinary situations in their life and we judge them as an audience on how they react.”
Moyer, 41, was born and raised in Brentwood in England and first started acting as a teenager. His father, John, is a double-glazing salesman, and his mother, Jean, works for a soft drinks company.
“There weren’t any actors in the family but my aunt and uncle were holiday camp entertainers and one of my earliest memories is of going to the Isle of Wight every summer and watching them perform.”
“My uncle Tony was my absolute idol and he used to do these fantastic impressions – I can remember him doing Elvis. And they also did a little bit of magic. I think a little bit of that stayed with me. And then I started doing plays at school and loved it.”
His life has changed both professionally and personally, since he took on the role of Bill Compton. He and Paquin are a couple-off screen and recently tied the knot at a private ceremony in Malibu. The close-knit team who make True Blood have seen their relationship blossom at first hand.
“There have been a couple of changes on the crew here and there but it’s basically the same group of people and they have seen us meet, they have seen us give each other shit on set and take the piss out of each other constantly,” he laughs.
“They’ve seen us come out as a couple when we were already together – in fact, when they saw us giving each other shit we were already a couple, but they just didn’t know. So they’ve seen everything. Actually, they feel like family.”
Making True Blood is long and exhausting, says Moyer, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
“By the end of the show, after seven months of working 16 or 17 hour days, you are knackered,” he says. “And yet when we leave it’s like mozzarella that’s being stretched and stretched and pulled apart – and it doesn’t want to be pulled apart, but it has to be. That’s how it feels.”
“Alan and I were talking about mourning the loss of the show – and hopefully that won’t be until four or five years down the line before it finishes. But I’m still mourning it even though it’s far into the future because I’ve never worked on anything like this where the cast is so together, the crew is so together, the writers, everyone – it really is a family.”
“Alan is at the very top of all of it, he’s the reason why it feels like a family, and it breeds a desire to make it the funniest, the weirdest, the sexiest show on television. There’s nothing that touches the scope of what we do. I love it." "

Vad hände med serien The Nine?
Here we go again! Ausiello just announced five new characters that will grace our television screens during True Blood season 4! Because some of these include plot development, we’re putting ‘em behind the purple spoiler banner.
Marnie is a Z-list palm reader who’s painfully aware of what a joke she is — that is, until she comes to be possessed by the spirit of a real witch. Anybody else thinking said sorceress might turn out to be the Hallow character Alan Ball told me about back in August?
Andy’s sister, Portia, is as easy on the eyes as she is sharp in the courtroom. And, since I hear possible portrayers have to be cool with nude scenes, we’re gonna get an eyeful.
Naomi is an Asian-American cage fighter who, outside of the ring…er, cage…is hot-’n’-heavy with one of her female competitors. My hunch is that, driven away by brother Sam, Tommy starts putting up his dukes for money instead of his paws.
Queen Mab is an elegant beauty who presides over a fantasy land that sounds a lot like the fairy domain into which Sookie (Anna Paquin) keeps being pulled. But, ethereal as her highness may be, she’s also got a temper…
Suzanne McKittrick is a Real Housewives type who throws a hootenanny to bond with “her kind.” That “kind,” I’m thinking, being shapeshifters like buttoned-down African-American (and fellow newbie) Emory Broome.
Säsong 4 kommer börja sändas någon gång i Juni 2011!

Vargar OCH pantrar, SPOILERS!
"Werewolves, step aside. As this exclusive photo (Bilden nedan) reveals, a panther has been spotted on the set of HBO’s True Blood, and will make her on-screen debut in mid-August.
Could this be a sign that the series is tearing a page from Charlaine Harris’ books and transforming fan fave Jason Stackhouse into a werepanther?
While Ryan Kwanten (Jason) confirms to me, “I’ve been working with the panthers and they’re a lot cooler than the wolves,” creator Alan Ball only says, “We have shot some scenes with actual panthers in the same way we have shot with actual wolves. But I won’t say there are or aren’t werepanthers on the show.” And if I were to tell you anymore, I’m afraid I might get my eyes clawed out."

Intervju med Denis O’Hare
After a sensationally over the top run on season three of HBO’s uber-popular vampire series True Blood, Tony winner Denis O’Hare (who played the show’s murderous King of Mississippi) has found a new set of admirers on his way back to the stage in the forthcoming Broadway production of Elling. So, which fans are more hard-core: Broadway-goers or vampire lovers? “It’s a tossup,” O’Hare recently told Broadway.com. “Broadway fans have to travel here to see their shows, so they have a level of commitment that’s more than just tuning in every week.” Thanks to TV, however, O'Hare can feel his profile rising: “I get left alone for the most part, but then suddenly somebody will scream, ‘Oh my God! You’re the King of Mississippi!'”
O’Hare got a taste of True Blood fandom at San Diego’s Comic-Con convention earlier this year. “Comic-Con is a special kind of crazy,” the actor joked. “There were around 130,000 people there!” In addition to convention-goers, the actor was surprised to find he had intergalactic fans. “I got surrounded by the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation,” he exclaimed. “First Deanna Troi [Marina Sirtis] walked up, then Data [Brent Spiner], then Worf [Michael Dorn]. I was just like ‘Oh my God!’” But after his character's questionable fate of being encased in a tomb of concrete for the next 100 years, will O’Hare be back for season four? “I love the show and really hope I’m back next year," he said. "It's a very good atmosphere."
In the meantime, O’Hare is prepping to return to Broadway for the first time since 2007’s Inherit the Wind in the mental hospital comedy Elling opposite Brendan Fraser, Jennifer Coolidge and Richard Easton. “I’m scared and nervous,” he said. “I forgot how much work [Broadway] is.” Asked if he's offered any advice to Fraser as the Mummy star makes his Broadway debut, O'Hare said, “I think he’ll be just fine. He doesn’t need any help from me. I’m really looking forward to working with him, and I love this script.”
O’Hare received a Tony Award for Take Me Out and a nomination forAssassins. His other Broadway credits include Sweet Charity, Major Barbara, Cabaret and Racking Demon. Off-Broadway, he played the title role in a 2008 production of Uncle Vanya. Elling begins performances November 2 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre with an opening night set for November 20.

Svt om säsong 3
Vilka kommer vara med i säsong 4? SPOILERS!
"Eonline" skriver:
Joe Manganiello is officially set for more True Blood nakie time in season four!
Oh wait, you knew that already?
Well, how about Bon Temps' other new additions—Denis O'Hare (Russell Edgington), Marshall Allman (Tommy), Kevin Alejandro (Jesus) and Lauren Bowles (Holly) ? We have the scoop:
Believe it or not (and after last week's, um, sunny episode ending, we were inclined to go with the not), all of the aforementioned newbies will be back on True Blood for season four, according to sources. So it looks like all those pretty faces up there survive next Sunday's "bloody" (per Alexander Skarsgård) season three finale—even the (gulp) spine-snatchin' King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington. (Hide yer babies!)
Dennis is set to return to the HBO hit next year, according to sources, but don't expect to see Russell too early in the year. We have it on good authority (Alan Ball's) that initially witches will reign supreme, but I'm told the plan is for Russell to reappear later in the season.
As for Lafayette's lover, Jesus (Kevin Alejandro), Nelsan tells me, "We're partners in crime now, my boy toy, so he will be back." Adds Kevin with a knowing grin: "I'm hearing rumors about that, too. I've never been a part of anything this big before."
Sam's wayward little bro isn't going anywhere either, although he's mastered the tease.
When asked if he'll be back, Marshall told me: "Yeah, I am. But I mean, hey! How do you know?! Come on, now! Spoiler alert!" We'll take that as a big, fat, yessiree!
And rounding out the ranks as a newly minted series regular (she told us herself after hitting up the Emmys with her sister Julia Louis-Dreyfus ) is Lauren, who recently joined the show as resident Wiccan Holly.

Intervju med Alexander Skarsgård
Generation Kill vs the Swedish marines
I was in the Swedish marines for 15 months. I was a sergeant, the same as Brad Colbert is in Generation Kill. I did it for myself, because I was 19 and I wanted a challenge. I knew that I wouldn't be shipped off to Afghanistan and have to shoot people out there. It's very different when you enrol in the States because you know that a couple of months from now you might actually go out and be shot at. But it definitely helped me in terms of the structure of it, the banter between the guys, how you address your officers, how you address your peers, the gear, the weapons. In terms of making it authentic, we had a couple of real marines from First Reconnaissance with us who were in the book. It's a true story: we didn't want to Hollywood-ise it, fictionalise it, throw in a girl and a love story. We wanted it to be real and we didn't want it to have a beginning, a middle and an end. We wanted it to be five weeks in what these guys are going through out there. It's not like the show ends and the conflict is over. We made it for all those soldiers over there because you don't really see what's happening on a daily basis, what the soldiers are going through and what kind of baggage they come home with. So it was just important to make it right for these guys to go to their families, "Watch this, because this is pretty much what we went through out there."
Modelling for Hickey Freeman vs Zoolander
I'd never done a commercial or an ad before in life, not even in Sweden when I was working there for many years. It just felt right. [Hickey Freeman] called and said Annie Liebovitz, who's one of the best photographers in the world, was going to do it, so it was an opportunity to work with her. We had a couple of meetings and we said no first. Like I said, I'd never done it before so I was very hesitant. But then we met a couple of times and the way they wanted it to be sounded very classy and not too promotional. I really liked the way it turned out, I think the shots are great and I'm very happy that I did it. It was an opportunity to work with a phenomenal photographer.
Lady Gaga vs Rihanna
They were very different experiences. I worked with Lady Gaga for a day on a video shoot. It was crazy; we had a lot of fun. I had a great time. [Filming Battleship] is a different experience because Rihanna, we're out there together for a couple of months. This is her first movie but she's great, she's really really good in it and her working… She's got a crazyschedule. She's really diligent and I'm impressed. We would work and then she'd fly to LA to perform at the MTV Music Awards and then fly back red eye, land, go straight to set, work all day. No complaints, nothing. She's really solid.
Tall vs small
My height can be a problem. A lot of directors and photographers are sometimes not happy because I'm pretty tall and especially if I work with short actors the difference can be pretty massive. [Laughs] That's definitely happened before. We use apple boxes for the other actors so they get up a bit.
Being naked on screen vs that cover shoot for Rolling Stone
Why do I "love being naked"? [Laughs] Because I was born that way? I didn't write the scripts but I don't mind it if it makes sense. It's about being comfortable and if it makes sense story-wise. The only time it can get awkward is if you feel exploited, like, "Why am I standing here naked?" and I've never felt that. There's always a reason for it on the show and it's always at great moments: fun, crazy scenes. So I really don't mind at all. The Rolling Stone cover just happened on the day. We showed up and we shot very PG-13 with our clothes on for basically the whole day, like six or seven hours. Then towards the end the photographer said, "I have this, these shots are beautiful and the magazine is going to be happy with them but I'd like to try something if you guys are game." He explained it and it was just one of those things in the moment where we all looked at each other, we'd spent all day with the photographer, we felt comfortable with him, we knew that he was great and the atmosphere was right and we were like, "Fuck it, let's do it." No one thought that the magazine would go for it. They want to sell at Walmart. We thought this was going to be too offensive. But I guess they did. [Laughs] I'm glad they did! I liked it a lot. It was definitely more interesting than the safe version…

“He really just wants love honestly,” Allman tells Zap2it. “He wants someone he can trust, someone he can depend on, to be like a healthy family. Does he have any idea how that works? Hell no. But does he know how to get what he wants? Probably not, but we shall see.”
So, when it comes to family, we hear he may have been getting the wrong brand of love. Will Sam be able to change things with some brotherly bonding?
“We are kind of like oil and water him and I,” says Allman. “But the beautiful thing is we are family. You can’t choose who your family is. It’s like take it or leave it. That’s kind of what we’re facing — whether him and I actually can work out our personality differences or personal issues in order to be a happy family.”
Brotherly love is one thing, but when we asked Allman if he’d confirm rumors that his character was going to move in on baby vamp, Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), he went cryptic on us.
“I ain’t going to deny or acknowledge that rumor,” he says. “But I think every chick on the show should want my character. He’s freakin’ bad ass and he is freakin’ awesome.”
Det är bara att vänta och se tills nästa säsong :)
