Meet the New Writer
Gianna: What were you up to before you joined us here in Bon Temps?
Angela: I was working as a Co-EP on Hung.
Gianna: Were you a fan of the show before you joined the team?
Angela: I was! Although, I wasn't up to date.
Gianna: What's it been like joining a show already in its 5th season?
Angela: It's been really fun and exciting. Alan is awesome to work with and the other writers have been very welcoming and are insanely talented. I'm in prep for my first episode now, so I am just now meeting the cast and crew.
Gianna: Which episodes are you writing?
Angela: I will be writing episodes 505 and 511.
Gianna: What's been the most challenging part of the new job?
Angela: I think getting a feel for the tone of the show and the voices of the characters. I've always been on shows since the beginning, so it's a different ballgame to come into a show where everything is already established and figuring out how to do your thing within the established parameters.
Gianna: Who's your favorite character to write for and why?
Angela: I've only written one episode -- but so far, I really like writing for Sookie, I enjoy her struggle to retain a sense of normalcy in her increasingly dangerous life. And I like writing Jessica, I think the dichotomy between her natural goodness and the dark side of her vampireness is fun to explore.
Gianna: How is True Blood different from other shows you've worked on?
Angela: It's way mellower, and the hours are great! Of course, I haven't entered production yet. Ask me again in a month.
Gianna: Any fun hints you can drop about the coming season?
Angela: I am terrified to utter a peep because there are so many rabid fans out there, so I am going to remain mum on that. Suffice to say it will be awesome.

True Blood- Copycats?
Nyligen har det sagts att en artikel har dykt upp i New York Post, som rapporterar hur Robert Pattinson har dissat Twilight konkurrenter:
'En mänsklig tjej som blir kär i en vampyr, har blivit en av de vanligaste begreppen i popkulturen. Men Robert Pattinson tycker att vampyr TV-serier som "True Blood" och "The Vampire Diaries" är "Twilight" copycats.'
"Det är som Cola vs. Pepsi, och hur Cola sagt "Det finns en anledning till att alla jämför sig med oss" sade Robert, enligt webb siten Hollywood Life. "Twilight var den orginella och alla försöker kopiera den. Alla försöker bara att hoppa ombord på "Twilight tåget".
En True Blood fan-sida komentar om detta:
Now it’s entirely possible that his words were taken out of context, or he was just kidding around, but the media has chosen to see this as a disparaging remark about True Blood. I’ve noticed that you Twilight fans are naturally very defensive of anything that Mr. Pattinson has to say, and I’ve also noticed that many of you do tend to share this attitude that True Blood and The Vampire Diaries are just poor relatives of Twilight. Here is a typical quote I have found from a Twilight fan responding to those who have criticised Robert for sounding ignorant in his remark:
“rob is so right about all these nonsense copycats. they were just trying to play a copy paste game.,,, ,,TWILIGHT’S CASTS are soooooo amazing that they made a blockbuster movie .chill and relax bcoz twilight was the one started these vampires obsessed(THE TRUTH!!!)”
Översatt: "Rob har så rätt om alla dessa copycats nonsens. De försökte bara spela kopiera, klistra in spel. Twilight Teamet är såååå otroliga att de gjorde en storfilm. chilla och koppla av för att Twilight var den som startade hela denna vampyr besattheten (sanningen!!!)"
Wow, such an articulate argument! However, there’s something I’d like to clear up – True Blood is based on a series of novels by Charlaine Harris, entitled The Southern Vampire Mysteries (give them a read, if you can cope with all the saucy stuff without your brains exploding). The first of these was published in 2001. Twilight, as I’m sure you’re well aware, was published in 2005. Likewise the first Vampire Diaries novel was published in 1991. True Blood actually first aired in September 2008, several months before the release of Twilight the movie. So just in case you are among the Twihards accusing these shows of bandwagon-jumping, it’s important to note that both pre-dated Twilight.

Jag vet att många har blivit upprörda för att det ska bli så mycket nya karaktärer, men som ni ser är det knappt några riktigt nya, bara lite cameos!
