“Chris Bauer, who plays Andy Bellefleur the cop, he lives on the east coast when he’s not filming True Blood so he goes back and forth and I go back and forth. A lot of folks have lives that they kind of travel around. Kristin Bauer (van Straten) comes to New York often and Steve (Moyer) and Anna (Pacquin) come to New York often … and Grant Bowler, he always seems to be back and forth between Australia, LA and New York for work.“

“I think (stage experience) is what makes the show have a kind of pop,” säger han.

“Carrie Preston is graduate of Juilliard and is a very good actor, Nelsan Ellis who plays Lafayette is a very, very good stage actor, Anna Pacquin has a lot of stage experience. She’s done quite a few plays and Stephen Moyer’s done quite a few plays as well. I know Alex Skarsgard has been on the stage back home (in Sweden). It is unusual to have that much stage experience.”

NATALIE: Hoyt’s mother will be the couple’s biggest obstacle next season. “She did not just buy that gun and leave it at home,” executive producer Alan Ball teases. Adds Deborah Ann Woll: “She is dangerous and wants the best for her son, [but] he may not agree with what that is, so we’re definitely going to fight her on that.”

Carrie Preston (Arlene Fowler): When Bill twists Lorena’s head around when they are having sex – the entire head. That was pretty gross.

Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica Hamby): When Eric bit the arm off of the guy Royce in the basement. I think it was the first episode, second season. It was pretty disgusting. I like that a lot.

Rutina Wesley (Tara Thornton): Bashing Franklin’s head in. That was gross, and a lot of fun to do.

Todd Lowe (Terry Bellefleur): Lafayette on that wheel and then somebody had to use the bathroom in a bucket in the back. That was a disgusting place.

Jim Parrack (Hoyt Fortenberry): I think when a redneck gets his hip bone pulled out by Eric in the beginning of [season] number two, the viscera and veins – that’s pretty gross.”

Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur): I love the gross moments the most. I like the blood vomiting. Early on when vampires have been killed, they puked up all this green power vomit stuff on people. I love that. I’m so sick, I loved when they showed Adele, the grandmother [dead]. She was the sweetest character and she was just gutted from top to bottom. How funny was that, though? The cat couldn’t go in the same room with her.

Marshall Allman (Tommy Mickens): When Tara bites the psycho vampire Franklin’s neck, I nearly puked. That was singularly the grossest moment on the entire show.

Straight from Alexander Skarsgard, who mouthed these golden words at the audience after Anna Paquin coyly dodged a question on whether Sookie would act on her attraction to Eric in season 4.

Perhaps we should start at the beginning – because one big ‘ole bag of crazy was unleashed at yesterday’s event…and honestly, it’s hard to know where to begin.

Ok, it’s not really. Let me just pick something random. Something like…..

ERIC

As expected, Skars received a raucous welcome that went on…and on…and ON.

The amnesia storyline was confirmed, with Alex telling the audience that Eric loses his memory because “He messed with the wrong people.”

“This powerful character is just gone—it’s not what we’ve built up over the past three years; it is just gone. And it’s a lot of fun for me because it’s the polar opposite of who Eric really is…He is lost. He doesn’t know how he is, he knows he’s a vampire, but he slowly finds out stuff, like, ‘Did I do that? I killed those people? Why would I do that? Oh. Really?’ It’s not easy to hear—and not knowing who he can trust, who’s a friend or an enemy. He’s very vulnerable.”

Kristin Bauer von Straten elaborated:

“[Eric's] being 10 years old, basically. He’s so sweet and cute, because he’s got amnesia. So our whole dynamic has changed. You’ll see how incredibly comedic and brilliant Skarsgård is, which everyone doesn’t know.”

We know, Kristin. WE KNOW.

More from Alex on the plight of our amnesiac vampire:

“Things are definitely not stable for Eric. He doesn’t know who he is, so 1,000 years of resentment for humanity is just gone. He’s very innocent…so Eric needs help. There are a lot of friendly people in Bon Temps who are kind enough to give him help….Pam is obviously very helpful as well—my lovely daughter.”

Other points of interest on Eric:

• Alex asked Ball for some Pam/Eric flashbacks
• Godric returns this season in flashback or dream form
• There will be an “amazing” flashback involving Eric and Bill – Alex: “Just watch it!”

SOOKIE

So aside from Sookie “acting on her attraction” to Eric this season, what else do we have to look forward to from our favorite waitressing, telepathic fairy? Well, it seems that our protestations for a Sookie with half a brain might finally be reaching the right ears. According to Anna Paquin,

“We will see what she learned tempering the way she goes about looking for independence.”

Can we get a freaking AMEN? I cannot cope with this dimwitted, junkie Sookie for another episode. This sounds like a good indication that our ideas here about the effects of Bill’s blood aren’t far off. Given that she’ll presumably be going cold turkey on that shit, I’d expect to see a fiesty, more independent Sookie as a natural consequence.

So where has Sookie gone? And when will she be back?

“She comes back. But things are different.”

I reckon the time jump theory just got a pretty huge boost.

When asked whether Sookie could control the Glowy Hands of Fail, Paquin replied “No. But she’s new at this fairy stuff”.

Will Sookie act on her attraction for Alcide? “Well, he doesn’t turn into a ball of charred fire during the daytime. But he comes with baggage.”

Psychotic, drug addicted, batshit crazy girlfriend baggage. But that’s OK Sook, you can get some help with that. Keep your shotgun and shovel handy.

BILL

Bill will be involved in a major struggle with Sophie Anne. As for the fight, Alan Ball says that Bill will not be taking on the queen by himself.

“It’s not just Bill involved in the fight”.

Stephen Moyer confirmed that he would like to direct an episode. I can’t say this impresses me much, given his often completely baffling comments about his character. Please HBO, just NO. No one wants to see this. Really.

With reference to the infamous twisty head sex scene with Mariana Klaveno, Stephen mentioned that he had his own “fuck puppet”.

OKAY, THEN.

Moving on.

JESSICA AND HOYT

So what torture is Ball going to inflict on the couple everyone roots for?

According to Deborah Ann Woll, “The fairytale can’t go on forever, but maybe reality is better than a fairytale.”

OK, so that sounds promising…right??

Maxine will be back, and she is still her bigoted, bitchy old self.

ALAN BALL

As expected, Ball dropped some stuff that I suspect he thinks are bombs…but really aren’t. Like this on Bill and Sookie:

“It’s hard not to think of them as soulmates when they’re soulmates in real life.”

Wassup, Alan? You’re off your game! Ball’s been throwing some version of this bait out at every Paley and Comic Con since this show started. It used to get us riled up into a right lather. But after the events of season three – and I don’t just mean the edict and the Rattray reveal, either – it’s clear to me and pretty much everyone else watching this show that these two are the most fucked up version of “soul mates” ever to grace our television screens. He knows this. He does. But the reaction this statement gets from both sides of this fandom – every single time he utters it – is the very reason he keeps trotting it out.

Stop reacting.

The “soul mates in real life” reference just SCREAMS dig at the rather odd portion of the fandom who have a distinct problem separating Paquin/Moyer and Bill/Sookie. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.

On Sookie’s betrayal by Bill and whether there is hope for a reunion, Ball said:

“That betrayal is so deep I don’t think there is any way back from that. Hopefully we’ll have 17 more seasons.”

I’m taking that as being tantamount to a cold day in hell.

Another interesting nugget – Ball confirmed that vampires are able to dream. I thought that was pretty obvious when we saw Bill tossing and turning in bed having a nightmare about Lorena and his wife. But maybe some people needed this explicity pointed out…I don’t know.

In any case, this leaves the door open for a popular idea around these parts – namely, that Sookie’s dreams are shared with Eric, rather than him controlling them.

On the books, Ball said that he generally only veers away from them to give the characters besides Sookie good story lines. Otherwise, “the books work”. He also mentioned that all of the writers have read all of them.

We know this, Alan. It’s pretty obvious to most of us here that the core of the story remains intact while you fiddle with the details. And that’s cool, we like to be surprised. You’re doing a stellar job of keeping the important stuff and I’m pretty happy about that.

OTHER BITS AND PIECES OF NOTE…

• Ryan Kwanten says that Jason Stackhouse is the last person who should be left in charge of a town full of addicts
• Niall will definitely show up at some point, but not this season.
• Russell will be back, and “he is gonna be PISSED”.
• Eric and Lala will continue their…erm..”relationship”. Ball: “Sookie and Bill aren’t the only soulmates.”
• Ball promises “action” between Tara and Pam (looks like Tara really IS Amelia…)
• Terry and Arlene’s baby problem will “grow expotentially”.
• According to Chris Bauer, Andy will be tempted by all the V in his office this season
• Gary Cole (the creeper boss in Office Space…!!) will guest star in Season 4.

Aaron Perilo has been cast in the role of “Blackburn” in Season 4, Episode 5 of True Blood, “I Hate You, I Love You”. We didn’t get a casting call for this part previously, so we’re not sure how he fits into the story.  I’m sure there are those that will enjoy speculating about his part though.

UPDATE: Michiba (sheriff)- Aaron Perilo – the name of the character has been changed to Blackburn from Michiba, so this character is a sheriff.

Fairies can’t be turned into vampires. (Vampires just think their blood is mighty tasty and helpful for sun-bathing.) But Alan Ball reveals something else that fairies can do: “They can abduct humans and take them somewhere else that is not here,” he says. “Just like aliens.”

Gianna: Can you tell us about your role on the show? Who are you? Where do you come from? What’s in store for your character this season?
Janina: I play Luna.  I grew up on Navajo Nation, and I’m now a schoolteacher.  I refuse to tell you much more. I really don’t know much yet, because you guys haven’t told me anything, but I suspect that things are about to get a liiiitle crazy for me here in Bon Temps.

Gianna: What has it been like being the new kid around?  Most of our cast has been working together for four seasons now and I know they’re fairly close-knit!
Janina: Everyone is HORRIBLE!  Kidding kidding!!  So far, I’ve really only worked with Sam.  I don’t see much of the cast, except at table reads.  I actually had the same exact situation with The L Word.  I joined the cast in their fourth season, so I’m used to being the freshman in a high school of seniors.  Of course I’m incredibly respectful of the fact that this insanely talented cast and crew have created a hit show together.  I just feel lucky they’re letting me show up and play with them!

Tarantino is suing Ball over the “blood-curdling screams” that he can hear from his own place. Tarantino claims in his lawsuit, filed Thursday in L.A. County Superior Court, that the “obnoxious pteradactyl-like screams” coming from Ball’s “exotic bird menagerie” have “seriously disrupted [his] ability to work as a writer in his home.”

Apparently Tarantino and Ball haven’t been able to figure out how to deal with this amicably. Somehow I am surprised that Mr. Tarantino doesn’t actually enjoy the bird sounds – seems like they might inspire some fresh work…

Ausiello: Season 4 is “about him dealing with power,” Joe Manganiello shared at PaleyFest over the weekend. “Him dealing with that beast inside of him. The more he lets it out, the more difficult it is to control. You’re going to see him wrestle with that a little more. You also see him wrestle with his feelings for Sookie.” Bonus Manganiello: I hear the in-demand thesp was recently approached about reprising his role as Marshall’s buddy Brad on How I Met Your Mother. Sadly, it doesn’t look like it’ll work out.

Question: What can you tell us about the fourth season of True Blood? —Nanni

Ausiello: I can tell you that a male character has a sex dream involving Jessica and Hoyt but — major twist alert! — “not at the same time,” reveals Hoyt’s portrayer, Jim Parrack.

Question: Can you give me any scoop on True Blood — specifically about Sookie and Eric? —Arden

Ausiello: We grilled Alan Ball about those two at PaleyFest and this was his intriguing response: “Sookie’s got romantic entanglements with a lot of different people. It’s not just Bill and Eric. It’s Alcide now, as well. And I don’t think Sam’s ever completely given up on her either. She is definitely going to grow closer to one individual in particular… [and] I think people who read the books will not be surprised.” Wait a second, no one said this job would require me to read.

If I had to describe “True Blood” at PaleyFest in a word? I’d have to use two – FREAKING AWESOME!! Wow, what a day. It started early when we were locked out of the apartment unexpectedly, but thankfully the day improved from there. We arrived at the beautiful Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills a little later than planned, but we were still early enough to get a great place in line with other diehard fans.

I have to say, waiting in line with a bunch of Billsbabes (and yes, we even socialized with the Eric folks and everyone was fabulously nice) was a pretty darn great way to spend a Saturday! We had beautiful weather – sunny, but just a little cool in the shade. We camped out on blankets and folding chairs, took turns picking up food and taking potty breaks, and of course had plenty of time to discuss our favorite show, “True Blood.”

Time flew by, and before we knew it, dusk was upon us, the theatre was lit beautifully, and it was time to be allowed inside for the event! There was so much excitement in the air, we just knew a wonderful time was going to be had by all. Lynn, Marshaa, Anita and I all managed to get third-row center seats, which was pretty kick-ass. We had a great view of the entire stage! After a quick introduction by a Paley rep, we got to see a nice little show recap including all of the main characters – Sookie screams a lot, Bill doesn’t play well with other vampires, Jason…is Jason, and we love him for it. It was a very nice clip package that I hope will be available at the HBO site soon if it isn’t already.

We also got a sneak peek clip for season 4. It wasn’t very spoilery at all, but I will say we got to see Pam, Jessica and Hoyt doing their thing – the Pam one-liners are definitely still zinging left and right just as they always have!

The moderator for the panel was from TV Guide, and before we knew it all of our favorite TB stars were taking the stage! All of the main actors were there, as well as many of the supporting players, plus even the man himself, Alan Ball. I think if you’re a fan of the show, you had to be pleased with how many came out to support their fave job/show.

The panel was so much fun. This cast has chemistry and camaraderie in spades – they all seem to love each other, and everyone wants to work with everyone else! A fun question for all was about memorable fan encounters.

Joe M. was asked to lick a fan since werewolf saliva has healing powers. Thankfully, security saved him from that request

Chris Bauer was excited that a fan approached him, but it turns out the stranger only wanted to point out the bird poop on him.

Todd Lowe was asked to help a friend move, solely because the friend thought Terry’s pick-up truck in the show belonged to Todd. Todd did help him, though sadly without the aid of said truck.

Jim Parrack was asked to school a recent parolee on the finer points of being like Hoyt Fortenberry.

Sam and Rutina were both asked to be bitten by fans. Rutina claims they allowed the bites to happen, but Sam has blocked it out and has no recollection. He just took her word for it.

Alex once received a request in the mail to marry a woman’s daughter. I’m pretty sure he turned her down, but then he flashed a ring so who knows?

Stephen mentioned again all of the dogs he’s encountered named Sookie. He’s also been asked to call various wives/girlfriends on the phone with the hopeful result of getting their significant others “so laid.” Apparently this works well, and could be a side business should he decide to give up this whole acting thing.

Anna thinks it is cute that women approach her pretending to want her autograph, when what they really want to do is meet her husband. I’m pretty sure Mr. Moyer blushed at this, and it was a very cute moment.

Alan echoed Stephen’s comment, and said he’s been thanked so many times for improving sex lives around the world via the sexiness of “True Blood.”

After some audience questions, the panel quickly ended and the mad rush to the stage began. I think we’re all a little skinnier and taller now that we’ve been squashed into oblivion, and I got very well acquainted with a gentleman who gave me a forced lap dance when the crowd got to be way too overwhelming. Sir, I’m pretty sure you owe me at least dinner and drinks, or I owe you some singles down the waistband, so give me a call if you’d like to pursue that-

But you know what? It was so. worth. it. Not only did I get to have Stephen sign his lovely Details magazine cover, but he took a pic with me! What an absolute sweetheart of a man, and so attentive to the fans. He walked up and down the stage to sign for as many people as possible. Quite a few of the actors stayed a long while, and when we finally got out of the mad throng, the only signers remaining on stage were Stephen, Sam, Alex and Joe. Not only are they our resident hotties, they love the fans, too! What total sweethearts, all of them.

I bought a TB Paley poster on my way out to grab some much-needed oxygen, and then we were off to the back of the building to see if we could get more pics of our fave stars departing. I heard that several of the cast came out back to sign for fans including Marshall Allman, Kristin Bauer, Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin. Yes, I was lucky enough to see Stephen and Anna again! The stars of the show are the best at taking care of the fans – how awesome is that? They kept signing and taking pictures even though they were constantly encouraged by reps and security to leave. Even though I had already taken the time to meet with Stephen inside, I decided to give him a little more attention and take another pic with him. He thanked me profusely for flying across the country to attend the event. Stephen said the TB fans are absolutely the best. I also got a pic with Anna and had them both sign last season’s Bill/Sookie TVG cover. Niiiiiice!

Sadly, once Stephen and Anna left the night was officially over. What an experience! I can’t thank all of the stars, the Billsbabes and especially Lynn enough for such a wonderful time. I’d love to do it again next year!

Igår på PaleyFest 2011 var 16 av skådespelarna (+ Allan Ball) där!  Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgård, Alan Ball, Carrie Preston, Chris Bauer, Deborah Ann Woll, Jim Parrack, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Alejandro, Kristin Bauer, Marschall Allman, Nelsan Ellis, Rutina Wesley, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell and Todd Lowe.

Anna Paquin says that she will return from Fairyland but that “there’s stuff that’s different.'' Alan confirmed that Sookie’s grandfather Niall (from the books) will not appear this season but will definitely show up some time in a future seasons.

Alan Ball said that “Eric doesn’t know who he is anymore” and that the Viking is desperately lost in season 4. The amnesia storyline is confirmed and although Eric does know he’s a vampire, he doesn’t know much more. He might receive some assistance from a blond fairy to help him remember his life. Alan Ball mentioned that vampires do dream and that there might be some flashbacks from the dearly departed. Alex Skarsgard added that there is an amazing flashback with Eric and Bill.  Alexander also mentioned to Alan that he would really like to see some flashback scenes with Eric and Pam.  Alan took note!

Sam did confirm that he will find love again this season, he will be bartending again and hopefully he´ll putting aside his bad ways!

Bill and Sookie’s breakup is serious and it will be a very difficult road to bring those two back together. The question was asked if Alan Ball still believed that Bill and Sookie were soul mates. Alan responded that it was very difficult not to see them that way as they are soul mates in real life.

Queen Sophie Anne and Bill Compton’s fight will include one other “person.”

There will be a bunch of new characters, including one played by Gary Cole.

Tara Thornton will be a much stronger person this year and will be more stable.

Bellefleurs: Andy Bellefleur will be experimenting with some of the V at the police station and Terry B and Arlene´s trouble will ¨grow exponentially¨ thanks to Arlene´s evil baby.

Hoyt and Jessica are still together but will face some challenges, ¨all good things eventually come to an end¨ said Deborah Ann Woll.

Tommy just wants to be loved…

Mellan den 11-22 Maj, 2011 öppnar den 64:e filmfestivalen i Cannes portarna & visar Filmen Melancholia.
Alexander Skarsgård är med i denna film, som är gjord av den legendariska filmskaparen Lars Von Trier.
Filmen har många heta namn så som Kristen Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kiefer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling, John Hurt, Stellan Skarsgard and Udo Kier.


Filmen kommer att vara färdig inspelad senare i vår.
